We believe that every child deserves a learning experience that is engaging, inspiring and designed to help them flourish. At Daven Primary School, our carefully planned curriculum is structured so that learning builds progressively over time, meeting the expectations of the National Curriculum and helping children develop secure knowledge and skills. Each term and year group builds upon previous learning, giving pupils regular opportunities to recall prior knowledge, make connections, develop fluency and deepen their understanding.

We have high expectations for all children and adapt learning to ensure every pupil can succeed. For some children, a more personalised and bespoke pathway is needed to meet their individual needs. Through our specialised approach, we carefully tailor support, provision and learning experiences so that every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Oracy is woven throughout our curriculum, with opportunities for discussion, partner talk, questioning and collaboration in every classroom. By helping children express their ideas, explain their thinking and listen to others, we develop confident, articulate learners who are well prepared for the future.
