At Daven Primary School, our curriculum extends beyond the National Curriculum to provide our pupils will broader development so they are able to 'take on the world.' The work we do aims to enhance pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Alongside our carefully sequenced curriculum, the work and experiences we provide to our pupils support them to not only be 'brave, kind and curious' but to be confident, resilient and independent.
We are fortunate to a have a safeguarding and wellbeing mentor in school who is available to provide high-quality pastoral support to pupils and families. The PSHE jigsaw curriculum, alongside No Outsiders, provides pupils with the knowledge they need to eat healthily, maintain an active lifestyle and understand healthy relationships. Through competing in town sports, school tournaments, dance workshops, local art competitions etc, we provide a wide range of opportunities to nurture, develop and stretch pupils’ talents and interests.
Each of our curriculum areas have links and connection to the fundamental British Values. This is so we are able to prepare pupils for life in modern Britain effectively. As well as the curriculum, this is developed through our Rights Respecting work and assemblies.
At the bottom of the page, you will find key documents that support our personal development offer. One document is our 'Graduation Champion Journal', launching in September 2025.
